Importance of Voluntary Blood Donation

Saves Life

Every donation can save up to three lives. Blood is essential for surgeries, accident victims, cancer treatments, and mothers during childbirth. Voluntary donors help ensure hospitals always have a safe, steady supply when emergencies strike.

Regular donations help maintain a stable national blood supply. By donating voluntarily — not only when family or friends need it — donors strengthen the health system and reduce the risk of unsafe, emergency-driven transfusions.

Excess iron in the body isn’t safe. Over time, high iron levels can increase the risk of heart disease and liver problems. Regular blood donation helps regulate iron and maintain healthy levels — especially important for men, who do not lose iron naturally through menstruation.
